Police Seek to Identify Suspects in Westfield Wheaton Mall Armed Robbery

Police released surveillance video of two suspects in an armed robbery last month at Westfield Wheaton Mall.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) asks for the public’s help identifying them.

The crime occurred Aug. 23, according to police. Officers responded to the mall for a reported armed robbery at about 7:20 p.m.

According to MCPD, a male victim made a store purchase and when he exited the mall, two suspects approached him. One assaulted the victim and the other showed a handgun and stole his property.

Police described one suspect as “a Hispanic male who is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall with short hair and a medium build. He was last seen wearing glasses, a long grey sleeve shirt, black Adidas pants and black shoes.”

Police described the other suspect as “a Hispanic male who is 5-feet, 8-inches tall with dark hair, a mustache and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants, dark shoes and dark hair.”

MCPD asks anyone with information to give a tip by calling 1-866-411-8477 or by going to the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County website and clicking www.p3tips.com. Up to $10,000 is offered for information that leads to the suspects’ arrest. Tips can be anonymous.
