Police Share Ring Camera Video As Investigation Into Vandalized Pride, Ukrainian Flags Continues

Police released video of suspects as detectives continue to investigate vandalized LGBTQ+ Pride and Ukrainian flags in Silver Spring.

Police shared Ring camera video of a suspect setting fire to a flag outside a home, per a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). Investigators think there may be more than one suspect involved in the hate-based vandalisms.

Last week, police stated several Pride and Ukrainian flags were burned overnight in multiple Silver Spring neighborhoods. In Thursday’s update, police said at least 11 flags as well as sign boards were burned.

MCPD again asks residents to share their home surveillance videos of possible suspects.

The police department asks anyone with information to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Up to $10,000 is offered for information that leads to the suspect’s arrest. Callers can be anonymous.
