Recreation Department Hosts Holiday Festivities

Celebrate the holiday season with family-friendly themed events during December. Montgomery County Recreation is hosting holiday-themed events at community recreation and senior centers across the county throughout December.

Saturday, Dec. 10

Damascus Winter Wonderland from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. will have holiday crafts, family games, and a movie.

Therapeutic Recreations Santa’s Workshop for individuals with disabilities and their families from 1- 3 p.m.Attendees can eat holiday treats and play games.

Friday, Dec. 16

Santa’s Workshop in Burtonsville from 6 to 9 p.m. The Workshop includes cookie decorating, a hot chocolate bar, and a movie night featuring “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

Photo Op & Cocoa with Mr. and Mrs. Claus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration for this free event is required.

Deck the Halls with Spaghetti and Meatballs provides community members with a free family dinner, arts and crafts, a hot chocolate bar, live entertainment, and ice skating from 6 to 9 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 21

Jingle and Mingle with DJ Chrome for residents 55 and older from 2 to 3 p.m. Music, refreshments, dancing and lots of fun.

Saturday, Dec. 31

Therapeutic Recreation’s New Year’s Eve Party for residents ages 15 and older with disabilities. The event is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. There will be party favors available for attendees.
