Montgomery County police are searching for a 21-year-old Gaithersburg man charged in the fatal shooting of a man outside of a Rockville restaurant Sunday.

Detectives secured an arrest warrant Tuesday for Shayan Solimani Damabi, charging him with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in a violent crime. Police say he shot and killed 33-year-old Nicholas Njuki early Sunday morning.
Rockville City Police and county officers responded around 2:02 a.m. Sunday to the parking lot of Quincy’s Potomac Bar & Grille in the 1000 block of Seven Locks Road, where officers found Njuki with a fatal gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
According to detectives, Njuki and Solimani Damabi got into an argument inside the restaurant before the shooting. Njuki left in a vehicle with another person. They encountered Solimani Damabi driving a separate car near the intersection of Fortune Terrace and Northside Park Boulevard.
Police say Njuki stepped out of the vehicle and walked toward Solimani Damabi’s car, where Solimani Damabi allegedly shot him. Investigators allege Solimani Damabi then fired at Njuki’s companion, who drove away, before fleeing the scene himself.
Police describe Solimani Damabi as about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 205 pounds. He may be driving a red 2018 Acura TLX with Maryland license plate 3GD6732.
