Rockville Police Arrest Suspect in Wednesday Shooting

Rockville City Police officers are investigating a shooting at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday of an adult male, listed in critical condition.

Officers from Rockville City Police, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office, the Montgomery County Police Department and the Montgomery County Division of Fire Services all responded to the 600 block of Blandford Street following the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital.

During an investigation, police identified the suspect as Octavia Brewster, 17, of Lanham. He was taken into custody.

Detectives from Rockville City Police recovered a privately made firearm, also known as a ghost gun, and other evidence related to the incident.

Brewster has been charged as an adult with Attempted First-Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Armed Robbery, Reckless Endangerment and various firearms charges.
