Madison Watts, a sophomore from Rockville High School, was named a finalist for the Maryland State Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB) on Feb. 11.

The annual legislative session was hosted by the Wheaton High School Student Government Association, with over 300 student leaders from across the state in attendance, according to MCPS.

Governor Wes Moore will select between Watts and the other finalist, Abisola Ayoola, a junior from Wilde Lake High School in Howard County, in late spring.
