Santa Claus Hitching a Ride with Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department

The holiday season is in full swing and with Christmas on the horizon, Santa Claus is coming to town.

The Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department is once again helping Santa make his way through the neighborhoods. The Santa rides begin Sunday, Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. through the neighborhoods of Ashton Meadows, Ashton Manor, Ednor Acres, Cliftonbrook, Ashton Preserve, Hampshire Greens, Llewellyn Fields, Norwood Village, Ashley Manor, and Ashton Pond.

Additional routes over the next week include:

  • Victoria Springs, Brooke Manor, The Preserve, Sycamore Acres, Norbeck Manor, Norbeck Meadows, Norbeck Crossing, Cherrywood, and Cherry Valley – Monday, Dec. 18, 5 p.m.
  • Manor Oaks, Goldmine Crossing, Dellabrooke Forest, Town of Brookeville, Bordley Estates, Brinklow, Ashton (North & West), Sandy Spring, The Orchards of Sandy Spring, Bancroft, Arden Woods, Sandy Spring Meadows, Auburn Village, Ashton Knolls, Batchellor’s Forest, and Retreat at Sherwood Preserve – Tuesday, Dec. 19, 5 p.m.
  • Williamsburg Village, Cashell Manor, Barnsley Manor Estates, Norbeck Grove, Oatlands, Olney Square, Homeland Village, Olney Oaks, Olney Acres, Briars, Acres, and Olney Spring – Wednesday, Dec. 20, 5 p.m.
  • Olney Mill, Brookeville Knolls, Tanterra, and Olney Village – Thursday, Dec. 21, 5 p.m.
  • James Creek, Brooke Grove, Environ, Hallowell, Lake Hallowell, Highlands of Olney, and Olney Estates – Friday, Dec. 22, 5 p.m.

The fire department hopes you will come to the curb or your window and wave to Santa as they pass.

Santa might be coming your neighborhood with the help of your local fire department. The Hillandale Volunteer Fire Department, the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department, and the Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Volunteer Fire Department are all helping Santa this year.
