It’s back-to-back baseball championships for Sherwood High School.
The Warriors beat previously unbeaten Stephen Decatur (Berlin, MD) 2-1 to capture their second straight Class 3A Maryland state title at Cal Ripken Jr. Stadium in Aberdeen.
Pitching and defense were key as Sherwood allowed only five runs in five playoff games. The Warriors finished the season with a 29-3 record, winning 21 straight games to close out their championship run.
Sherwood has cemented its place as a local power, having won five of the last six state crowns. From 2021 to 2023, Sherwood won three straight Class 4A titles before transitioning to Class 3A in 2024.
