Deondray Darnell Osborne, 33, of Silver Spring was arrested in connection with attempted murder in a domestic violence case in which he is alleged to have fired multiple shots toward a victim seated in a parked vehicle.
The incident occurred July 20 in the 800 block of 16th Street in Silver Spring.
As part of an investigation, Montgomery County police detectives identified a stolen BMW as the vehicle Osborne was driving. Then, on Tuesday at 4 p.m., a police cruiser equipped with a license plate reader identified the vehicle near East West Highway and Grubb Road in Silver Spring.
Police also learned the same BMW was spotted in Washington, D.C. following a theft from a car in the 5500 block of Connecticut Avenue. County police as well as officers from the Metropolitan Police Department and federal task force agents tracked and pursued the BMW as it sped through northwest Washington, D.C. and then into Montgomery County.
Osborne did not pull over and continued driving onto Lyttonsville Road, where he got out of the car and walked to the 8600 block of 16th Street and got into a Honda Accord, according to Montgomery County police.
The officers followed the Honda and stopped it in the area of Georgia Avenue and Seminary Road. They surrounded Osborne and arrested him, according to police.
During the investigation, police searched an apartment Osborne frequented and found evidentiary items. He is being held without bond.
