A Silver Spring resident became $200,000 richer playing the Maryland Lottery Pick 5 drawing on May 6.

The 43-year-old automobile repair specialist told lottery officials he plays the same Pick 5 combination every day and has done so since the game began. He always buys multiple tickets with the same five-digit sequence.

On May 6, he won the top prize of $50,000 in the midday drawing with four bets on the number 21624. He placed his four bets, each costing $1, at the Hyattsville Convenience Store.

Maryland allows lottery winners to remain anonymous. The Silver Spring man told lottery officials he has no immediate plans for his winnings.

The Hyattsville Convenience Store located at 2230 University Boulevard receives a $2,000 bonus from the lottery for selling four $50,000 winning Pick 5 tickets.
