A woman died Thursday evening following a shooting inside her home in the 3000 block of Memory Lane in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County police officers and fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene around 5:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. They provided life-saving measures, but she did not survive.
Police have ruled the shooting a homicide.
A male suspect, who was known to the victim, shot the woman inside her home and then left, according to a police investigation.
Police are trying to find the suspect. The victim’s name will be released to the public after her family is notified.
