Surveillance cameras helped Montgomery County detectives identify a suspect involved in two bank robberies earlier this month in Rockville.

Asa Wilson Brown, 34, of the 2300 block of McAuliffe Drive, is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of theft, police said.

On Oct. 9, Brown entered the Old Line Bank at 1801 Rockville Pike and passed a note to the teller, demanding cash and implying he had a weapon, police said. He left the scene on a bicycle with an undisclosed amount of money. A surveillance camera caught the suspect changing clothes in a nearby parking lot, police said.

Then on Oct. 15, the same suspect entered the Congressional Bank at 1700 Rockville Pike and passed a note to the teller announcing the robbery and implying he was armed, police said. He left the bank on foot with the stolen cash, police said.

Detectives used the photos and video as part of their investigation and arrested Brown on Oct. 26. He is being held without bail.
