Surveillance Video Released of Suspects in Silver Spring Restaurant Armed Robbery

Police released surveillance video of suspects in a Silver Spring restaurant armed robbery.

According to police, men armed with guns demanded property from victims inside the Shalla restaurant in downtown Silver Spring last month. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) asks for the public’s help identifying three suspects.

Officers responded to the Shalla restaurant at about 12:20 a.m. on Dec. 21 last month for a reported commercial armed robbery, according to police. Police stated three men wearing masks went into the restaurant — two had firearms and one had a red bag. The armed men demanded personal property from the victims inside, police said, and the victims complied. The three men left with the property and headed toward Washington, D.C.

Police described the first suspect as “a heavy-set male wearing a black BMW hooded sweatshirt with black sweatpants and carrying a shotgun” and the second suspect as “a male wearing all-black clothing, a black jacket and carrying a long rifle firearm.” Police described the third suspect as “a male wearing a black jacket, white sweatshirt, black pants and a white facemask.”
