Takoma Park Police Seek Extradition of Man Accused of Rape, Assault

A Takoma Park man arrested in Virginia is under investigation in connection with a rape in Takoma Park earlier this month.

Christopher Bernard Wise, 38, is being held in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he is accused of standing over a victim with a hammer while attempting to rob him, according to Takoma Park Police.

In the Takoma Park incident on March 15, a female victim met a suspect through an online dating app. The suspect sexually assaulted her and cut her leg, according to police. The suspect was identified, and Takoma Park issued an arrest warrant for him.

Fairfax County investigators contacted Takoma Park police and advised them they had arrested the suspect they were seeking.

Takoma Park police executed a search warrant to seize Wise’s DNA and have filed a detainer with the Fairfax County Detention Center. A hearing is expected to be held to have Wise extradited to Maryland.
