
A teenage boy was shot and wounded late Monday in the Fairland area near White Oak, according to Montgomery County Police. The victim suffered from non-life threatening injuries.
Shortly before midnight, officers were called to the 13000 block of Chopin Court for a reported shooting where they found the boy with a gunshot wound in his thigh.
The incident occurred while the victim and another teenage boy were walking on a footpath. The suspect approached them and shot the victim, then fled the scene.
Officers applied a tourniquet to the victim’s wound before fire rescue personnel arrived and took him to a hospital. The victim was alert and conscious when transported to the hospital.
“There is no suspect information available,” police said. The investigation is ongoing.
