Bonnie Cullison a state delegate in District 19 since January of 2011, announced her retirement and will not seek reelection.
The remaining members of the delegation announced Monday they are running for reelection as a team. They are Sen. Ben Kramer and Delegates Charlotte Crutchfield and Vaughn Stewart.
In a joint news release, the incumbents stated, “Our district is strongest when we work as a team, and we are proud of what we’ve accomplished alongside our neighbors. We hope to earn the opportunity to continue fighting for District 19 together.”
Crutchfield, who was first elected in 2018, highlighted her commitment to community stability and public safety.
Stewart, who also was first elected in 2018, said in the news release that the team will stress affordability and accountability.
Christa Tichy also has filed to run as a delegate in that district. Tichy originally sought a seat as an at large county council member. She is the owner of C&T Contracting.
District 19 stretches through the middle of the county from Kemp Mill to Redland and includes parts of Shady Grove, Norbeck and Norwood.
Currently, no Republicans have filed.
