Two students are in custody following a police investigation of a report of a gun at Northwood High School in Rockville. Police reported locating a BB gun at the school.
The school was placed on lockdown while police searched for a weapon.
This was the second incident for the school on Old Georgetown Road Thursday.
This incident followed an earlier one in which the school was placed on a secure status, meaning all external doors are locked while normal campus activities continue, following a report of a person in the area with a gun. This report was deemed unfounded.
Northwood students have been attending school at Woodward High while a new building is being constructed at the former Northwood High site on University Boulevard in Silver Spring.
