#WearOrange Event in Germantown Recognizes Gun Violence Survivors

To recognize and uplift survivors of gun violence and organizations working to combat it, Moms Demand Action joins forces with #WearOrange in Germantown on Sunday afternoon, June 8.

#WearOrange Weekend starts at 1 p.m. at Ridge Road Recreational Park in Germantown. To register, click here.

#WearOrange began 10 years ago, on what would have been the 18th birthday of Hadiya Pendleton. Pendleton was killed at age 15, playing with friends on a Chicago playground

Moms Demand Action, part of the advocacy nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety, is a national movement sparked by the 2012 tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary that cost the lives of 20 children and six teachers.

Every year in early June, volunteers with Moms Demand Action and their partners host #WearOrange events across the country – with more than 300 events this year nationwide – “to demand a future free from gun violence.”
