Veterans Day is this Wednesday, Nov. 11. Montgomery County has posted the following holiday schedule:
- County offices – Closed.
- State offices and courts – Closed.
- Libraries – Closed.
- County liquor stores – Stores open noon to 7 p.m.
- County-provided refuse/recycling pickup – County-provided trash and recycling collection will not be collected Wednesday, Nov. 11. After the holiday, County-provided collections will slide to be one day later than normal. Last collections of the week will be on Saturday, Nov. 14.
- Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station – Open on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
- Recreation – Indoor aquatics facilities open. Recreation centers, senior centers and administrative offices closed.
- Montgomery Parks – Facilities that will be open to the public include:
- Brookside Gardens (Gardens open sunrise-sunset, Visitor Center open 10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
- Little Bennett Campgrounds
- South Germantown Driving Range
- Cabin John Ice Rink and Wheaton Ice Arena (open for individual athletic training only)
- Wheaton Indoor Tennis, outdoor tennis and pickleball courts
- 250 miles of natural surface and hard surface trails
- Dog Parks
- Picnic Shelters (may require permit)
- Playgrounds
- Skate Parks

- Metrorail and Metrobus – Information available at com/service/statu
- Ride On Flex – Not in operation due to health crisis.
- ARC Train and Commuter Bus – Information available at maryland.gov.
- TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store– Closed.
- Parking at Montgomery County public garages, lots and curbside meters – Free.
The City of Gaithersburg government will observe the following holiday schedule for Veterans Day:
- All city facilities are closed with the exception of the following facilities:
- The Activity Center will open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The Aquatic Center will open from 4 to 8:45 p.m. by reservation only.
- Police Department Administrative Offices will open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The collection of recycled materials will take place as scheduled.
Rockville City Hall will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.
