Montgomery County Police responded to Benjamin Banneker Middle School for the report of an assault at 1:38 p.m. Thursday.
Police remained on the campus as of 4 p.m. following an assault between two female students at the Burtonsville school. “The situation is under control” according to police and both students were transported to a hospital with minor injuries. A female victim – age 12 – was stabbed/cut in the ear area and has a minor injury according to police
Students are being released on a staggered schedule. The school was under a shelter in place.
