In this special edition of The Pulse, Montgomery Community Media examines bullying in public schools through the experiences of real people — students and parents — medical experts and community leaders both within and outside of the public school system.
Circle of Trauma: The Pulse on Bullying in Our Schools explores the physical and emotional impact of bullying, the warning signs and what parents and caregivers can do when they learn their child has been bullied or is the person doing the act.
We also hear from a man who says he bullied his classmate who was different and lived to regret it, plus a Montgomery County doctor who has treated thousands of children, and explains where bullying comes from.
This episode also features Montgomery County Council Vice President Marilyn Balcombe and Councilmember Shebra Evans, School Board President Grace Rivera-Oven and officials from Montgomery County Public Schools.
