5 Things to Know Today, Dec. 15, In Montgomery County

It’s Wednesday, Dec. 15 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Weekly Briefing: County Executive Marc Elrich and health leaders will hold their media briefing at 12:30 p.m. Residents can watch live on MCM channels 21 and 995 (HD), County Cable Montgomery and on the county’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

2. Budget Forum: From 2-3:30 p.m., Elrich will host a hybrid fiscal year 2023 Operating Budget Forum at Leisure World in Silver Spring to focus on input from the senior community. Leisure World residents may attend in-person; others may join virtually on Microsoft Teams or watch on the county’s Facebook page, or visit a viewing center at the North Potomac Senior Center or Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center.

3. Fair Housing Forum: From 6:30-8 p.m., residents can join a virtual forum about the Regional Fair Housing Plan. Register here.

4. Drive-Thru Food Distribution: Stop by South Lake Elementary School in Montgomery Village from 1-2:30 p.m. to receive boxed groceries in your car. See other free food resources here.

5. Senior Planet: Senior Planet Montgomery continues to offer free Zoom classes to senior residents. Today’s classes include “Smartphone Photography” and “Hosting a Zoom Meeting.”
