5 Things to Know Today, Dec. 7, In Montgomery County

It’s Wednesday, Dec. 7, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Early Release Day: Today is an early release day for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students.

2. Flu Vaccination Clinic for Kids: Montgomery County will hold a flu vaccination clinic for children from 1-4 p.m. at the Dennis Avenue Health Center.

3. Weekly Briefing: County Executive Marc Elrich and health leaders will hold their media briefing at 12:30 p.m. Residents can watch live on MCM channels 21 and 995 (HD), County Cable Montgomery and on the county’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

4. Libraries: Check out programs offered today with Montgomery County Public Libraries.

5. ICYMI: Evan Glass, the first openly gay person to be elected to the Montgomery County Council, was unanimously chosen to be president Tuesday during the new 11-member council’s first meeting. Andrew Friedson unanimously was elected vice president.
