5 Things to Know Today, Feb. 23, In Montgomery County

Today is Tuesday, Feb. 23 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County:

1. County COVID-19 Testing Clinics: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at nine testing sites today.

2. Council in Virtual Session: The Montgomery County Council meets at 9 a.m. and here’s a look at the agenda for the meeting. The meeting will be televised on County Cable Montgomery Channels Comcast HD 996 and SD6, RCN HD 1056 and SD 6, and Verizon 30. Additionally, it will be live-streamed on the council’s Facebook and Youtube channel.

3. State, County School Board Meets: There will be two school board meetings today. Montgomery County Public Schools’ Board of Education holds its business meeting at 1 p.m. Here’s a look at the meeting’s agenda. Maryland State Board of Education is also hosting a meeting at 9 a.m. Here’s a link to the state board’s agenda and live stream for the meeting.

4. COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall: The Asian American Health Initiative (AAHI) and the Office of Community Partnerships is hosting a vaccine town hall at 7 p.m. The town hall will feature County Councilmember Gabe Albornoz and Director of the Department of Health and Human Services Dr. Raymond Crowel. 5. Congressman Trone Hosts Vaccine Webinar: U.S. Rep David Trone (D-Md.) is hosting a vaccine webinar at noon which features Montgomery County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles. Click here to register to attend.
