1. Schools: Montgomery County Public Schools will open on time today, except for Clarksburg Elementary School, which will be closed until further notice due to access and power issues from a large downed tree, according to MCPS. See more here
2. Snow update: There have been reports made for more than 200 trees down or on wires, according to the county. See more here
3. Council meeting: The County Council will meet today starting at 9 a.m. The meeting will be livestreamed on YouTube @MoCoCouncilMD. View agenda
4. State of the Union: Members of Congress announced their plans ahead of tonight’s State of the Union address. U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and U.S. Rep. April McClain Delaney (Md.-6th) will not attend. U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (Md-8th) will bring family members of the late Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of the women who publicly alleged abuse by Jeffrey Epstein and called for accountability.
5. Candidate filing deadline: Residents who want to run for public office have until 9 p.m. tonight to file for the primary election in June.
