5 Things to Know Today, Jan. 11, In Montgomery County

1. Pedestrian, Bicycle, and Traffic Safety Advisory Committee Meeting: Virtual meeting of the PBTSAC. Please click here to register for this meeting. A link and call-in information to the meeting will be sent after registration. Meeting agendas and summaries are posted on the PBTSAC’s website. The agenda will also be sent to registered members and guests.

2. College Admissions: Students interview with college representatives and receive an on-the-spot admissions decision. The event occurs at the Seneca Valley High School cafeteria from 6 to 8 p.m.

3. MCPL: Did you know that January is Financial Wellness Month? Learn how the Internet can open a new world for saving money and managing your finances! The event occurs at White Oak Library at 11 a.m. This lecture introduces online banking and discusses how to keep your financial information safe.  You’ll also learn about online shopping and explore digital resources for saving money on entertainment, prescription drugs, and everyday items.

4. Foster Parent: Interested in learning more about becoming a licensed foster parent in Montgomery County? Attend the virtual Information Meeting from 6:30-8:00 pm. To RSVP, email fprecruiter@montgomerycountymd.gov, and a link will be sent.

5. ICYMI: A new Navy medical ship will be named the USNS Bethesda EMS 1.
