2. Renters Town Hall: At 6 p.m., Councilmember Will Jawando invites residents to a virtual renters town hall. Maryland State Delegate Jheanelle Wilkins and advocates for renters and affordable housing will join the event. Register here.

3. Parks Playhouse Junior: At 10 a.m., Parks Playhouse Junior presents a free puppet show, “Kidsinger Jim Goes Green,” at South Germantown Recreational Park.

4. Drive-Thru Food Distribution: Stop by Watkins Mill Elementary School from 1-2:30 p.m. to receive boxed groceries in your car.

5. ICYMI: Khizr Khan, the Gold Star parent who gave an impassioned speech at the 2016 Democratic convention denouncing then-presidential candidate Donald Trump for his proposed ban to keep Muslims from entering the United States, is one of 17 people receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom Thursday.
