5 Things to Know Today, Sept. 26, In Montgomery County

It’s Tuesday, Sept. 26, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Council: The Montgomery County Council session starts at 9 a.m. with a busy agenda. The council will review of the Pedestrian Master Plan, received a briefing on the Fairland and Briggs Chaney Master Plan and vote on spending affordability guidelines. 2. Rockville Candidate Forum: The Greater Rockville Chamber of Commerce presents a candidate forum today from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Thomas Farm Community Center. The forum will broadcast live on cable channel 11 and live stream at www.rockvillemd.gov/rockville11.

3. Budget Forum: Today’s forum takes place from 7-8:30 p.m. at the BlackRock Center for the Arts, 12901 Town Commons Drive in Germantown.

4. Twilight Tuesday: Today Hand-Dancing Under the Stars. DJ Rick spins the tunes for an evening of hand-dancing, a smooth version of the Lindy Hop that features turning between partners, and several step patterns used to keep time. Experience is not necessary as the first 20 minutes of the evening features a lesson on the various dance styles.

5. Divorce 101 Seminar:  Going through a divorce is a major life change with a legal process many do not fully understand. The New Beginnings divorce support group in Montgomery County is offering a 6-week series of online seminars covering everything you need to know about divorce in Maryland. Tonight’s session covers the basic laws governing divorce in Maryland. and takes place from 7 to 9 p.m.
