5-Year-Old Pageant Winner from Germantown Steps Up For COVID-19 Community Efforts

Germantown resident Cristiana Reid-Thompson has accomplished a lot for a 5-year-old. She recently won the USA National Miss Maryland Pageant in March, and she will go on to represent the state at the USA National Miss Scholarship Pageant in Disney World come Thanksgiving. She will be competing for the title of USA National Jr. Princess. Reid-Thompson will participate in evening gown, interview and runway fashion show events in order to claim the honor of being crowned the national winner.

The talented youngster is a student at Captain James E. Daly Elementary. She received two Presidential Service Awards in 2019 for outstanding community service and has completed more than 100 community service hours so far this year.

Reid-Thompson is currently dedicating her time to help people in need throughout Montgomery County during the COVID-19 health crisis. So far she has written letters to senior citizens in nursing homes, made care packages for health care workers, donated to food pantries, and even hosted a live virtual story time.

MyMCMedia spoke with Reid-Thompson about her pageant experience, and her community service during the pandemic.
