Vivian Stewart Nation, 80, was charged with first-degree murder for his alleged role in the fatal stabbing of his wife, 78-year-old Beverly Fletcher, last Saturday.
Emergency response personnel received a “report of a person in cardiac arrest” just after 6 p.m. Saturday evening at the 3300 block of N. Leisure World Boulevard in Silver Spring. Authorities pronounced Fletcher dead on-scene, MCPD said in a statement.
Police found Nation in his Leisure World apartment, where his wife’s body was found. According to the police report she was “suffering from multiple stab wounds and possible blunt force trauma.”
Fletcher was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. Her cause of death was determined to be “multiple sharp force injuries, and the manner of death ruled a homicide.”
