Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics
The Maryland Department of Health reported 262 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County Tuesday morning. The county’s cumulative case count is 48,351.
Montgomery County recorded seven new coronavirus-related fatalities Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 1,104.
The county has a rolling seven-day average of 8.18% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a decrease of 0.3 from Monday’s average rate of 6.8.48%. The county’s positivity rate is lower than in 18 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.
Montgomery County leads the state in total COVID-19 related fatalities but not in total cases. Prince George’s County has 1,074 fatalities and the most coronavirus cases in the state with 56,813 cases.
Allegany County in the western region of the state has the most cases per capita at 78.9 cases per 1,000 residents. Somerset County has the second-highest per capita cases with 73.7 cases per 1,000 residents.
Maryland COVID-19 Statistics
Tuesday the state recorded 1,956 new infections, bringing the state’s cumulative case count to 289,758.
COVID-19 related hospitalizations are at the highest point since the start of the pandemic. On Tuesday, the state reported 1,771 patients were hospitalized across the state with the virus.
Tuesday the state recorded 54 newly reported deaths, bringing the state death toll to 5,913.
The state reported a rolling seven-day average of 9.19% for positive COVID-19 tests Tuesday. This is a decrease of 0.28 from Monday’s rate of 9.47%.
