2. Olympic dream: They’ve gone from training as young kids at the Wheaton Ice Skating Academy to now being on the doorstep of qualifying for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Montgomery County natives Caroline Green and Michael Parsons are vying for three pair spots in ice dancing in the Olympics that will be awarded on Jan. 11.

4. Holiday Alcohol Task Force: From New Year’s Eve through last Saturday, officers with the county police department’s Alcohol Holiday Task Force arrested 28 people for driving under the influence (DUI), according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
