5 things to know today, March 2, in Montgomery County

1. Road work: A routine bridge deck repair project on the outer loop of the I-495 bridge over Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase starts today, according to the State Highway Administration. There will be a double right-lane closure on Connecticut Avenue all week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It should be done by March 16 weather permitting. See more here

2. Extreme Cold Alert: Montgomery County is under an Extreme Cold Alert until 3 p.m.

3. Council Committee meetings: There will be three county council committee meetings today. The first one starts at 9:30 a.m. View agendas here
