A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run Wednesday morning in Gaithersburg, according to police.
Montgomery County Police and County Fire and Rescue were dispatched at 4:47 a.m. to Muddy Branch Road and West Diamond Avenue for a reported hit-and-run.
Upon arrival, officers found an adult male pedestrian in critical condition. Reports indicate that the driver fled the scene. Officials said in an update that the injured pedestrian died.
According to police, officers are looking for an older model Honda CR-V, possibly dark gray in color, with red accents and front-end damage to the left side. The car was last seen driving on Muddy Branch Road toward West Diamond Avenue.
UPDATE: The pedestrian struck in the hit-and-run collision in the area of Muddy Branch Rd. and West Diamond Ave. has died.
