Will Milam’s campaign for sheriff intensified when the union representing deputies announced a vote of no confidence in Sheriff Maxwell Uy’s leadership — saying Uy’s management left morale at an all-time low.
Milam shared these words after securing the Democratic nomination: “I am deeply grateful to the voters of Montgomery County for placing their trust in me and in our vision for the future of the Sheriff’s Office.” He continued, “Throughout this campaign, I had the privilege of speaking with residents from every corner of our county. I am thankful for those conversations, for the support we received, and for the opportunity to listen to the concerns and priorities of our community. I look forward to strengthening community partnerships and public safety, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.”
Milam, the former Chief Assistant Sheriff for Prince George’s County, added, “Sheriff Maxwell Uy has served Montgomery County with dedication and commitment, and I thank him for his years of service to both our community and the Sheriff’s Office. I look forward to working with him in the months ahead to ensure a smooth and professional transition that serves both the dedicated employees of the Sheriff’s Office and the residents of Montgomery County.”
