Two suspects are in custody following an armed carjacking in Gaithersburg.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the victim was offered $70 to give them a ride to Silver Spring. The driver was then hit in the head with a handgun while the other suspect held a rifle in his face. The suspects then drove off in the victim’s red Toyota Camry.
The Montgomery County Police and Gaithersburg Police responded to the scene and attempted to stop the vehicle. After a short pursuit, the two suspects were taken into custody but not before they crashed the car.
Authorities found a gun on the scene. No bystanders or officers were injured.

DC police reported the vehicle was taken in an armed carjacking. The stolen vehicle was located near Quince Orchard Road and Route 28.
