A 67-year-old passenger suffered fatal injuries following an early morning car crash near Damascus on Saturday morning.
According to Montgomery County Police, 5th District officers were dispatched to the 24000 block of Ridge Road a little before 7:30 a.m. There they encountered the results of a collision between a gray 2023 Ford Transit van and a black 2024 Chrysler Pacifica.
The Ford Transit was traveling north when it collided with the southbound Pacifica.
Harold Christopher Christner of Frederick was pronounced dead at the scene. Christner was a restrained passenger in the second row of the Pacifica which sustained significant damage. Both drivers and 3 other passengers in the Pacifica were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No drugs or alcohol impairment is indicated at this time. MCPD will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The Police Collision Reconstruction Unit indicates the investigation could take several weeks or even months to resolve.
