The residents of 24 apartment homes were displaced after a fire broke out in a Rockville building Wednesday morning, including a man and 2-year-old child, whose apartment home caught fire at around 6:30 a.m.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews responded to a report of a fire at 472 College Parkway. The blaze was located behind the refrigerator inside an apartment unit, according to David Pazos, assistant chief with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.
Neither the adult nor child occupants were injured in the fire.
Power and gas have been shut off in the entire building.
