Three teenagers have been arrested following an armed robbery inside Northwest High School in Germantown Thursday, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
The incident took placeat around 12:35 p.m of a bathroom. The robbery suspect, a 15-year-old, allegedly pointed a gun at the victim and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect cash, and both students left the bathroom, police say. The victim then reported the crime.
Officers began searching for the suspect and found him and three others about two miles away from the school near Great Seneca Highway and Wisteria Drive.
Police say they found the weapon used in the robbery, a loaded P80 handgun with an extended magazine, in a wooded area after a K9 search.
The 15‑year‑old suspect is charged as a juvenile with armed robbery, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony or violent crime, handgun on person, possession of a regulated firearm by a person under the age of 21 and possession of a firearm without a serial number. The suspect is being held at the Cheltenham Youth Detention Center.
The two other suspects are being charged with similar gun-related charges. They have been sent to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, and are awaiting a bond hearing.
A fourth teenager who had been with the group was interviewed and released without charges, according to MCPD.
