Police Chief Resigns: Shortly after County Police Chief Marc Yamada’s resignation was announced Friday, the county’s Office of the Inspector General released a report stating that an executive at the police department violated department policy and county code by being absent from work without taking leave and providing false information during an official investigation.

2. Yom Kippur: Yom Kippur, known as the holiest day of the year in Judaism, is today and ends after nightfall tonight.
3. No School for MCPS: There is no school for Montgomery County Public Schools today.
4. Temporary Bus Relocations at Takoma Metro Station: Metro will start bus shelter replacement work at the Takoma Metro Station today. Some bus shelters will be relocated. See more here
