MCDOT Announces Schedule Changes For Dec. 31, Jan. 1

Montgomery County Department of Transportation released its schedule for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

All county offices are closed. Also closed are the TRiPS Commuter Store at the Silver Spring Transit Center and the TRiPS Mobile Commuter Center.

Ride On will operate on a Sunday schedule on Dec. 31 and a Saturday schedule on Jan. 1. The Ride On extRa and Flex will not operate on either day.

The Ride On Flash, orange line, will operate on its weekend schedule.

Metrorail will run from 7 a.m. until 1 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule on New Year’s Eve.

On New Year’s Day, Metrorail will run from 7 a.m. until midnight, and Metrobus will run its normal Saturday schedule.

The MARC train will not operate on the Camden or Brunswick Lines. The Penn Line will operate on a Saturday schedule on Dec. 31. There will be no train service on Jan. 1.

The MTA Local and Commuter buses will not operate, except for Route 201, the Gaithersburg-BWI Business District, which will run on a weekend/holiday schedule on Dec. 31.

Parking at Bethesda, Silver Spring and Wheaton public garages, lots and curbside meters is free on both days.
