Elrich Reacts to Third Pedestrian Fatality in 2020

Only two weeks into the new year and already three people have died in pedestrian-related collisions on Montgomery County roads.

The latest happened on Rockville Pike, near Wootton Parkway, around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 16. This incident came 24 hours after a pedestrian was hit and killed on Rockville Pike Wednesday night.

These pedestrian fatalities come just a few days after County Executive Marc Elrich announced a $266 million investment in the Vision Zero program to reduce vehicle fatalities and pleas to the community for increased awareness.
