Montgomery County Police identified the woman killed while riding a bike Thursday. She was Sarah Joan Langenkamp, 42 of Bethesda.
According to police, both Langenkamp and the driver of a red 2014 Volvo D3 flatbed truck were traveling east on River Road. Langenkamp was in the bicycle lane when the driver of the Volvo turned right into a parking lot at 5244 River Road and struck Langenkamp, running her over, police said.

A woman was killed while bicycling along the 5200 block of River Road in Bethesda Thursday afternoon after being struck by a flatbed truck.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to the accident.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
