Bowie Man Arrested for Attempted Carjacking in Silver Spring

Montgomery County Police arrested and charged 26-year-old Louis Katty Telliano, of Bowie, for a June 7 attempted carjacking that took place in Silver Spring, according to a press release.

At approximately 10:49 a.m., police responded to the Shell/Dash In Gas Station located in the 11100 block of New Hampshire Avenue for an attempted carjacking call.

“The investigation by detectives determined that the adult male victim was pumping gas when the unknown suspect entered the front passenger seat of the car and began searching for property. The suspect then exited the car and began to beat the victim, and knocked him to the ground multiple times. He then demanded the victim’s car keys and ran away. The victim was transported to an area hospital for his injuries,” according to police.

Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Telliano.

Telliano faces a charge for carjacking and is being held without bond. He is due to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on July 8.
