Five Things to Know for March 18 in Montgomery County

It’s Wednesday, March 18 and we Montgomery Community Media employees are on our third day working from home because of the coronavirus pandemic. It’s also Awkward Moments Day and because we are practicing social distancing, we are somewhat grateful we can keep our awkward moments to ourselves.

1. Maryland Primary Postponed: Gov. Larry Hogan announced Tuesday that the April 28 Maryland primary election is postponed until June 2 because of the coronavirus outbreak. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Montgomery County Board of Elections has been tweeting information about requesting a Vote By Mail ballot.

2. Council in Brief: County Cable Montgomery’s Susan Kenedy caught up with Montgomery County leaders to look at how they are continuing to serve their constituents during the coronavirus pandemic.

5. Virtual Storytime: Are you working from home and have young children around? Councilmember WIll Jawando is hosting a virtual storytime for kids at 11 a.m. The storytime will stream live on Jawando’s Facebook page.

And one more thing… The MARC Brunswick line is operating on an R schedule.
