About the Veirs Mill Road Flash BRT Project

The Veirs Mill Road Flash BRT will feature a 7-mile, limited-stop bus service with 12 stations along Veirs Mill Road and MD 355. The project aims to improve mobility, connectivity, and accessibility in the Veirs Mill Road corridor. By reducing travel times and enhancing transportation options, the project will create a more efficient and sustainable transit network.

Stretching from the Wheaton Metrorail station to Montgomery College – Rockville campus, the project will improve bus services and pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure. Planned improvements include new sidewalks, intersection signals, signage, pavement markings, and lighting systems. These enhancements aim to improve connectivity and safety for all road users.

Community Engagement and Feedback

The open houses offer a chance for community members to learn about the project, engage with leaders and experts, and provide input. Information presented will include proposed roadway and traffic signal modifications, transit service details, and pedestrian/bike safety improvements. Participants can ask questions, share concerns, and offer suggestions.

“We are excited to engage with the community and gather their input on the Veirs Mill Road Flash BRT project,” said Zouli Bereddad, Project Manager. “Public feedback is crucial in helping us design a transit system that meets the needs of residents, improves connectivity, and enhances overall quality of life. We encourage everyone to participate in an open house and be a part of this important conversation.”
