COVID-19 Cases Continue to Climb in Montgomery County

Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics

As of Wednesday morning, the Maryland Department of Health reports 4,152 cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, which is an increase of 149 cases from 4,003 on Tuesday.

The health department reports that 218 county residents have died from COVID-19. This is an increase of 17 deaths since Tuesday.  Wednesday’s number of probable deaths is 24.

Tuesday evening the Maryland Department of Health released the number of cases and deaths in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the state. So far, there have been 1,043 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities and 129 deaths in the county.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 20,849 confirmed cases throughout the state. That is an increase of 736.

The total number of deaths in Maryland was 985, which is an increase of 56, according to the Department of Health.

In Maryland, 4,402 people have been hospitalized. This is an increase of 266.

Throughout the state, 1,645 hospital beds are being used for COVID-19 patients. Of that total, 1,060 beds are for acute care and 585 are in an intensive care unit.

A total of 7,615 cases and 404 deaths involve the state’s African American community.

There have been 4,369 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 471 deaths in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the state.
