Detectives seek to identify two suspects who police said tried to break into the same gas station twice in Olney.

Investigators ask for the public’s help identifying them.

On two separate occasions, the suspects tried to enter the Exxon gas station in the 18000 block of Georgia Ave. in Olney, per a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).

According to police, at about 2:36 a.m. on July 2, the two suspects were at the Exxon and one threw a rock at the front window. Police said they were unable to gain entry to the store and did not obtain anything.

Five days later on July 7, they came back with tools and one suspect used an axe to try to open the front door.

They were again unable to get inside and did not obtain anything, police said.

Police described it as an attempted burglary.

Detectives got surveillance photos and described the suspects as “two white males, between the ages of 15 and 21-years-old, wearing all black clothing and faces covered with a t-shirt,” per the release.

MCPD asks anyone with information to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Up to $10,000 is offered for information that leads to arrest. Callers can be anonymous.
