Montgomery County is home to numerous farmers markets that are considered essential businesses during the current coronavirus public health emergency.
Just like grocery stores, farmers markets must meet a few requirements to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The market staff must wear face coverings. The market must control the number of shoppers at any given time. And of course, shoppers must wear face coverings.
Some markets allow shoppers to pre-order and then provide curbside pick up. And some offer delivery service.
Montgomery Community Media’s Carolyn Raskauskas contacted a number of markets to determine if they are open and what shopping alternatives are available.
