Fire Chief Heads West After 32 Years with Montgomery County

After 32 years, multiple fires, explosions, deaths and injuries and even a small airplane stuck in utility wires, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Chief Scott Goldstein is moving on.

Goldstein has headed the county fire services for eight years.

He is moving west and will become fire chief for Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue in Kelson, Washington. This position enables him to live nearby his wife’s family. He originally had announced he would retire in September 2024.
